SKild for Development Workers

Skills and Knowledge for Local Development - SKiLD is a project of NAVCA (National Association for Voluntary and Community Action) and is for all infrastructure organisations: from CVS and Rural Community Councils through to black and minority ethnic development organisations, community forums and local development trusts.

National Occupational Standards from Skills Third Sector

National Occupational Standards (Standards) provide a clear description of what you need to know and what you need to be able to do to perform a job successfully. Standards exist across many occupational areas, and Skills – Third Sector is responsible for developing standards for roles unique to the third sector.

  • Managing Volunteers For those who manage or support volunteers
  • Trustees For trustees in all sizes of organisation
  • Fundraising For anyone responsible for raising funds
  • Campaining Standards (New!) For use by anyone who manages and runs campaigns in the voluntary and community sector.
  • Development Worker Standards (New!) For people who work for a support agency (for example, an infrastructure organisation), and through that mechanism, perform the function of developing the groups and communities they serve.
